The Solution

Introducing PATH2HappiSuccess

Developed by Dr. Richard Ellison and based on his book, Career Happiness & Success: A Definitive Path to Determine Your Best Career, PATH2HappiSuccess is the only program that takes into consideration all five personal characteristics:

  1. 1 Aptitude
  2. 2 Personality Type
  3. 3 Personal Interests
  1. 4 Personal Preferences
  2. 5 Personal Preferences

The program also utilizes:

  • Your current transferable experience and skills
  • A wealth of very important data for about 1,000 careers developed by the U.S. Department of Labor’s O*Net Online website.

How the characteristics and career data interact to determine the career you can be happy and successful in is illustrated in the following diagram, adopted from the Japanese concept of Ikigai, meaning “A Reason For Being”.

Everyone has a unique path to achieve career happiness and success. When developed, your path will help you to eliminate the stress and uncertainty associated with transitioning into a new career well suited for you.

The following flow diagram shows how the process works to determine your best career.

How It Works

You will be provided a workbook that contains instructions for completing four short Coursework sessions. Each session will take between 30 minutes and 3 hours. You will also want to spend 10 or 15 hours performing detailed research of your top 3 careers resulting from the PATH2HappiSuccess process so that you can be very confident that you will identify the best new career for you.

In comparison with other activities you may participate in, the PATH2 program is the most efficient and cost-effective time you will invest in your future. For example:

  • Each year of frustration in a job you are not happy with: 2,000 hours/year
  • Time spent job hunting, preparing a resume and attending numerous unsuccessful interviews: >20 hours/week
  • Time spent looking for 4 or 5 new careers on a trial and error basis: >2,000 hours
  • Repeating the process if the first career change selection fails: >1,000 hours
  • Attending numerous networking events: 7 – 10 hours/week

Your Key Characteristics

These key characteristics when implemented within PATH2HappiSuccess’s process provide a very clear picture for you to define your top new career with very high probability that you will achieve personal and financial goals.

We assume that you are fairly well-motivated because you are taking the time and putting in the effort to participate in this program.

Simply put, if you are doing something you are both good at and enjoy doing, the opportunity for you to reach your potential in your career and life is limitless.  Identifying your aptitude in our process is a key step in determining a career you will be good at.

Personality Type

When it comes to life, whether you are an extrovert or an introvert, or solve problems by thinking or feeling will have an influence on your choices of potential careers. Anyone desiring to be highly successful should understand where they fit within the Myers-Briggs 16 personality types. This will be a key factor in determining a career you will love.

Personal Interests

PATH2HappiSuccess takes into consideration the types of activities you like to do such as building things, debating ideas, leading people, traveling/exploring, being outdoors or pounding away at a keyboard. Determining a career doing work you are interested in will contribute to both how good and happy you will be in your new career.

Personal Preferences

The ways we like to work, such as working in teams or individually, contributes to the process of defining your preference for the best new career you would like to have. After all, everyone would be much happier and better at doing a job that matches your most important interests and preferences

Top Traits/Talents

Traits are natural, unique characteristics that determine how you will respond in different situations, as well as how you relate to others. Generally, you will be best at doing activities that match your Top Traits.
